19 of the Russian's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hardcourt
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev secured his maiden title for over two years with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.
The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a challenging year, achieving just a single victory at the Grand Slams and experiencing a difficult moment at the US Open.
His inconsistency on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his service game in particular - resulted in him exiting of the world's top 10 and finally splitting with long-time trainer Gilles Cervara.
Presently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, he has gradually improved in the recent weeks - peaking in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over challenger Moutet.
This marks the player's maiden championship since the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard surface from that period of the previous year.
Victory also means Medvedev has achieved 21 victories at 21 various events.
"It's the first time I am participating in a event with my both daughters together, so to win a trophy is particularly special," said world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in dedication of my second daughter her name, because the first title I got when my child her name was born was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his last six title deciders, including in that event in the past months.
Medvedev's defensive approach and regular outbursts on court had caused some to wonder if his capacity to compete at the highest level was over.
But the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, making an effort to approach the net and perform aggressively, backed up by an better serving game.
He recovered from a deficit in the initial set against the difficult Moutet, winning four of the concluding five points to go ahead.
The pair exchanged break points in the middle set before Moutet, bidding for his first ATP Tour title, gained dominance to force a final set.
The opponent rescued 4 initial opportunities in a competitive third set before the Russian secured a break to 15 to serve for the match.
Fittingly, Medvedev secured the win with a shot at the net area, with Moutet incapable to control a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
